Why the new format?

Quite simply, some people found it difficult to use, either because they weren't computer savyy, didn't notice the instructions or just had inexplicable issues.  We have changed to a forum format because the maority know how to use one, and the popularity of our Facebook group shows that people prefer absolute simplicity.

So why not just use your Facebook group?

Because there is no way to filter out what you aren't interested in, and it's diffcult to find something you saw only yesterday when the group gets busy.  We can also divide up the selling and general chat into seperate areas, making it easier to see what you want.

How can I list an item for sale?

Just visit the Marketplace link on the menu and add a new entry, as you would on any forum.  You do need to be registered first.

Why do I have to register, and why when I do does my registration need administrator approval?

Quite simply to avoid spam.  Whilst we employ security images and refer all posts to an anti-spam checker off-site, it is almost impossible to bloack spam.  By having users register and receive approval we can block spam almost completely.  If a spammer gains access to the site they can generate literally thousands of forum threads in seconds, causing offence to our users and hours of work for our admins.  We have a number of admins who can approve registrations, on the go for around about 16 hours per day.

Does it cost anything to use the site?

For individual users, usage of the site is free of charge.  We are currently trialling offering businesses their own area of the forum so that they can upload their own special offers and also allow customers to interact with them direct on the forum (and allow other users to help too).  At the moment this is offered free of charge but in future we may only allow such usage to site sponsors.

I've lost/forgotten my login details

The "Forgotten Your Username?" and "Forgotten Your Password?" links under the login box are there for a reason.  Click whichever option applies to experience a very simple and painless procedure for retrieving your missing info.  Please read the onscreen instructions to avoid complications!

I have been banned.  Why?  How can I appeal?

Most likely for ignoring the forum rules which are there for good reason.  However we can make mistakes.  If you have been banned, please get in touch using the contact form.
